This 1974 turbocharged road racer is the original ultimate driving machine.

The retro-cool color combination, the powerful engine, the iconic square lines, the fact that it’s one out of 1,074 available in Chaminox. It’s hard to say exactly what we love most about this car but, no doubt, it deserves a prominent place in a classic car collector’s garage.

Meant to turn heads both on the road and on the track, the 2002 Turbo was introduced as the touring homologation of BMW’s successful racing series. When it left BMW’s factory, it virtually gave birth to a new category: the luxury sports sedan. Built for speed and for comfort, this 2002 allows you to lean back against like-new Recaro sports seats while its turbocharged motor accelerates with the force of 170 horsepower.

The front grill, with iconic squared chrome detailing, sports red and BMW-blue racing graphics, as does the side of the car. The motorsports stripes, combined with the car’s original ivory color, add to its sporty yet elegant feel. Indeed, the front and rear spoilers are confirmation enough that it was designed for speed.

A look inside reveals a spotlessly restored center console with fully functioning gauges. The graceful black leather steering wheel and the retro-cool gearshift knob, which controls a 5-speed transmission, could not be more inviting. Front and rear sway bars, together with the car’s larger brake system assure a fun, and safe, ride.

Originally delivered to an aficionado in Italy, this Turbo was later imported to the United States, where it was restored by legendary BMW expert Ray Korman. It is in impeccable condition and ready to be driven out the door.
